Tradesmans Are Premier's Invincibles

Tradesmans rounded off a title winning Monday Premier League campaign with an 11-0 win over Octagon B that left them undefeated with twenty-six wins from twenty-six starts.

The talismanic John Mann top scored with twelve tons whilst Andy Bates eleven three figure scores was the next best from any player on the night.

Mann (28.90) also added the team's sole 180 of the match in a 3-0 triumph that was won with the help of legs in 14 and 18 darts to give him a share of the individual title in the league.

That honour was shared with teammate Mike O'Brien who finished on 75 points thanks to a 3-0 win that was won with the help of a leg in 18.

Bates (26.80) was also prominent during the match as he won 3-0 with a 17 dart leg his best during the singles phase.

Fred Goldsmith won his game 3-1 with a leg in 18 darts being his best against Ryan Ring who fired two maximums and a 15 darter in the contest.

Tony Tasker was at his best with twelve tons for Victory A as they signed off their season with narrow defeat at home to Bluebird B in a match that saw four maximums.

Tasker's teammate Darren Collis fired a brace of 180s whilst Richard Wheatley added a third for his team and Jamie Roberts chalked up a sole effort for the victorious team.

That wasn't Roberts only moment of magic of the evening as he also checked a leg from 95 in a single visit to give him the high checkout honours.

Tasker and Collis paired in the doubles and made light work of one 601 leg as they checked in just 20 darts whilst the standard didn't drop during the singles phase either.

Tasker's 3-1 singles win was accented by a 16 darter, which bettered Collis' leg in 17 in his success by the same score line as well as an 18 dart leg by the Compton team's Dan Hurley in his 3-1 triumph.

Scott Cook's eleven ton haul was bottomed out by a 106 checkout and one of three maximums between the teams during the match which saw Victory B win 7-4 over Bluebird A.

Equalling that finish was teammate Ant Pearn during his 3-0 win that saw him tick over the ten ton mark whilst Cook's 180 was added to by teammate Paul Goundry and Alan Masters of the Bluebird.

Jack McMinn was in good nick for the defeated team with ten tons overall as well as a 16 darter in his 3-0 success.

That leg beat one in 18 from Cook in his 3-1 triumph and another in the same number of visits to the board from Masters in his 3-0 success.

Kev Lofthouse's impressive ten ton haul was overshadowed by a superb display from teammate Andrew Cook in the King Billy's 6-5 defeat to Bluebird C.

Cook (27.83) added no fewer than three maximums to the scoreboard and won his singles 3-0 with three consecutive 18 dart legs.

After taking a 3-1 lead, the Compton side fell 4-3 and 5-4 behind before the last gasp rescue mission started with a Glenn Halford 3-0 success that was helped along with legs of 14 and 16 darts.

With scores level for the third time on the night, Lee Roberts then calmly dispatched his opponent 3-0 to take a good win back to their pub.

Lewis Dare's eleven ton haul was reached with assistance from two truly world class finishes as a 105 from the youngster was bettered by his own 160 checkout in Octagon A's 10-1 success over Union Inn.

Paul Palmer, Alfie Ford and Simon Washington (27.62) set the Stonehouse side's stall out from the first leg as they took an 801 trebles in just 29 darts.

The onslaught didn't stop there as Dare teamed with Dave Pethick to reel off a 601 doubles leg in an admirable 21 darts.

Ford and Washington (26.71) then ripped through their pairs game with legs of 23 and 22 darts to put the team 5-0 up.

Lee Hellings (23.48) added a 17 dart leg during his 3-0 win, which gave the team an unassailable 6-0 lead but did not quench their thirst for points.

Pethick then continued the precession with a leg in 15 during his 3-0 win before Palmer's 3-0 win continued a remarkable record of only dropping one leg in twenty played during the evening.

Dare got the better of his opponent with a leg in 18 helping towards another 3-0 win before Union finally put their first point on the board.

Despite Ford topping up his ton total to eleven for his evening's work, he fell to Andy Bond 3-2 before Washington ran out a comfortable winner with a 118 checkout winning of the three straight he took.

Four 180s lit up a 6-5 win for Indian Inn over Cherry Tree B as Lee Wyatt and Harry Bull fired for the victors with George Beckett and Marc Webber providing ripostes.

A 16 dart 601 leg in a 2-1 doubles win for Bull and his Dad Danny Bull gave them a phenomenal three dart average of 112.69 during that particular leg.

Nick Wills 180 was the only notable achievement during a 6-5 success for Brewery Tap over Cherry Tree A who end the season second and third bottom of the pile.
