KINGS Tamerton CC have lost their place at the top of the Plymouth and District Friday League after they were defeated 8-5 away at The Tradesman, for only their fourth defeat in 39 matches.
They now drop down into second place, seven points off the pace, after Porters A took all available points away at Waterloo B to move into pole position.
Antony Hayman won in 38 (26.34) and Harry Bull had a solid single’s win which he finished at the first time of asking from 100.
Octagon Social Club went 3-0 up away at GWRSA, aided by a 36-dart treble success for Steve Daley, Paul Barclay and Dave Wyatt (27.81) but they lost their way after that and the Laira side took five games on the spin before winning 7-6.
NO BULL: Young Harry Bull was on target for Porters A, achieving a solid singles win which finished with a checkout of 100 at the first time of asking.
Maritime A won 9-4 away at Jolly Miller, the same winning scoreline that was also achieved by Steam Packet B when hosting Indian Inn B.
They had Neal Hotchkiss (33.37) earning the plaudits when he hit back to back 180s in a 30-dart singles success, after having hit a maximum in the opening team game.
Maritime B overcame Brookside 8-5, buoyed by a double’s win for Tony Reid and Paul Hoare who hit six tons in a 38-dart leg (26.34).
A brace of 180s from Andrew Nation was the only highlight of the derby match at the Royal Naval Arms which the A side won 10-3, the same winning scoreline that was also achieved by Porters B when hosting Waterloo A.
Waterloo C produced arguably their best performance of the season to restrict Stoke Bar and Grill to just a single point while The Windmill overcame Porters C 10-3.
The Leigham side had Marcus Weetman registering the week’s highest checkout with a mark of 156 while George Tucker (29.44) won well for Porters when taking his singles in 34.
Glyn Wells (31.28) was a winner in 32, inspiring City Social to an 8-5 victory away at Indian Inn A while for the hosts, Mike Whatley (27.81) gave a good account of himself when he won his singles in 36.
