Keelan takes another big step as he competes in the Euros and World championships at the weekend

KEELAN Kay will take another big step in his darts education when he competes this weekend in the Junior Darts Corporation’s two biggest tournaments of the year.

On Saturday, at the Action Indoor Sports Arena in Bristol, he will be among some of the top players in the world competing in the European Darts Open.

This competition is open to all players between the ages of 10 and 18 and will be played over the best of 11 legs throughout, including the final which will be take place at 6pm.

KEELAN KAY: Competes in the two most prestigious darts tournaments of the year on Saturday and Sunday when he lines up in the European Open and WDS Associates Junior World Championships.

On Sunday, the Plymouth Studio School pupil will be in the line-up as one of the 40 young players from around the world, who have had to qualify to take part in the WDS Associates Junior World Darts Championship.

A Round Robin is the format for the most prestigious tournament of the year and comprises of eight groups with five players in each.

All matches will be contested over five legs and the top two players from each group qualify to the last sixteen.

Ties in the round of 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals will be the best of nine and the two finalists will have the privilege of contesting the world crown on stage, during the William Hill World Darts Championship at London’s Alexandra Palace on Saturday, December 16.
