No change at top of table after leading trio all win big

THERE is no change at the top of the Plymouth and District Friday League table after the leading trio all won in double figures.

Table-toppers Kings Tamerton CC won 11-2 away at Dinky Diner B where Dave Gamble was the only singles winner for the hosts when finishing at the first time of asking from 118.

Second placed Royal Naval Arms A returned from Brookside with a 10-3 victory, aided by a good performance from Andy Bates who top scored with 12 throws of a ton or more which included the week’s highest finish of 122.

Steam Packet in third, were the biggest winners of the week and took maximum points from their visit to Queens Dock.

Phil Taylor (left) and George Beckett combined well in the doubles to win in 36 darts (27.81).

Octagon Social Club secured all but one of the 13 points that were on offer from their visit to Royal Naval Arms B while Brewery Tap B and City Social A were both 11-2 winners against Indian Inn B and Pennycross SC, respectively.

Indian Inn A defeated The Windmill 9-4 but not before the Leigham side had Mark Shears (33.37) claiming the week’s best game in 30, aided by six ton plus scores which included a maximum.

Weston Mill Oak Villa came from 4-3 down against City Social C to win four of the last five singles to prevail by the narrowest of margins.

There was also a close encounter at The Tradesman when they were taken to 6-6 by Brewery Tap A before leading marksman Mike O’Brien (100x12), secured the 13th and decisive points to give the hosts victory.

The Fawn overcame Bull and Bush 8-5 while Jolly Miller and Porters were both 9-4 winners against Waterloo Inn and Dinky Diner A respectively.
