Wells done Glyn as he hits the season's top average

GLYN Wells achieved the highest average of the season in the Porters Function Room 501 Top 20 League when, inspiring Brewery Tap to a 7-4 victory away at Falstaff, he posted a three-dart average of 107.36.

The Devon county marksman helped to inflict on the hosts their first defeat of the season when winning his singles in 16, 14 and 12.

He was well supported by Kieran Burns (100x12) who also won in three straight legs with his best coming in 14.

Maritime Marauders are the new leaders, albeit by a single point, after securing an 11-0 whitewash away at Victory Inn B.

Mike Pearce, Dave Matthews and Tex Pearce were all prominent and were joint scorers on 11 tons.

The Office also secured maximum points against Waterloo, dropping just a single leg from the six singles, which included a 3-0 victory for Paul Gavican (100x13).

Kings Arms were another side to taste defeat for the first time when they went down 7-4 to Porters Pretenders who had Mark Shears top scoring with 12 throws of a ton or more which included a brace of 180s.

Lee Hellings (100x13) caught the eye in Fawn B’s 8-3 win against Duchy of Cornwall while Maritime Musketeers won 10-1 when hosting Fawn A, a fixture that saw four ton-plus checkouts executed.

Good performances from Paul Hoare (100x13) and Marc Webber (180x2) laid the foundations for Cherry Tree to emerge 10-1 winners against Indian Inn while Porters Patriots defeated Maritime Nutters 9-2.

Patriots are now in joint second spot, just one point off the pace and had the duo of Antony Hayman (100x13) and Malcolm Johns (100x12) top scoring from a team total of 100x50.

Keelan Kay (100x15) inspired Maritime Governors to an 11-0 whitewash of Compton when, in winning 3-1, secured legs in 19, 17 and 15.

Victory A had Scott Lawrey winning his singles in three straight legs, aided by a 14-darter as they won 7-4 on their visit to Octagon Social Club.

Alfie Ford for the hosts though also won 3-0 aided by a leg in 14 as well as taking out checkouts of 116 and the week’s highest of 156.

Other notable outshots were also achieved by Lee Agar (138), Mike Pearce (136), Jason Pinkerton (126), Andrew Nation (126), Tony Turner (119), Phil Evans (118), Keelan Kay (116), Rich Coombs (112), Jodie Hawton (112), Dave Clemson (105), Glyn Wells (100).
