GARY Phillips became the third player this season to achieve the highest possible checkout in the Monday Premier League when, inspiring league leaders Victory A to a 7-4 success against Porters A, he finished a 15-dart leg with a kill of 170.

Phillips (pictured below) also notched two maximums, his 19th and 20th of the campaign and his 3-0 singles victory keeps him at the top of the individual table with 58 points from a possible 60.

Lewis Dare (28.36) impressed for Porters A and emerged a 3-0 winner in 13, 18 and 22.

Indian Inn A were the week’s biggest winners when securing all but one of the 11 points that were on offer away at Steam Packet A while Victory B won 8-3 on their visit to Porters B.

The Tradesman defeated Indian Inn B 7-4 and Prince Maurice A overcame Hyde Park SC 9-2 while Prince Maurice B, who had only won three times in their previous 18 matches, came from 3-1 down to edge out Ford Hotel 6-5 and return to winning ways.

Cherry Tree B went from being 2-0 up to trailing 5-4, but won the last two singles to clinch victory by the narrowest of margins away at Octagon A.

Fred Goldsmith for the hosts, took out a 13-dart leg before going on to a 3-1 success and was well supported by Lee Hellings (100x12), a 3-0 winner.

Paul Bowen (100x17) caught the eye when winning 3-2 in 18, 18 and 17, laying the foundations for Plympton Cons to defeat Firkin Scholar 7-4.

Rob Thorning was on target with a 13-darter in a 3-0 singles success but finished up on the wrong end of an 8-3 scoreline when Bluebird were defeated by visitors Brewery Tap.

Maritime Social Club returned from Cherry Tree A with a 7-4 success, the highlight being a 3-0 win from Paul Palmer (30.06) in 18, 19 and 13 while there was also a good performance from his team-mate Kieran Burns (100x12) who hit two 16-dart legs before winning 3-1.

City Social were defeated 7-4 at home to Octagon B but the stand-out game saw 16-year-old Jordan Grimshaw, for the hosts, hit two maximums in a 3-2 win over Paul Barclay (100x11).

Notable outshots were achieved by: Paul Freeman (112), Mike Miller (111), Simon Washington (110), Warren Page (110), Scott Wapshott (108), Alfie Ford (102).
