Status quo at top of table after leading duo win 8-3

THERE is no change at the top of the Monday Premier League after the two leading sides both won 8-3.

Second placed Steam Packet B remain a point behind the leaders after winning away at Cherry Tree B while table-toppers Victory Inn A were successful at Octagon B.

Gary Phillips (100x15) remains out in front of the 180s table after hitting his 36th and 37th of the campaign and emerged a 3-0 singles winner, aided by a leg in 15, as did Keelan Kay.

Lee Hellings (100x13) top scored for Octagon A in their 7-4 victory away at Firkin Scholar while Kieran Burns (100x14) was prominent for Maritime in their 8-3 success over Indian Inn B.

Plympton Cons secured all but one of the 11 points that were on offer when they hosted Bluebird A.

In the best singles of the match, Mark Henley (100x15) finished a 15-darter with a kill of 105 only to be edged out by Adam Searle (pictured) who won 3-2, aided by a checkout of 142.

Brewery Tap defeated The Tradesman 7-4 in a match that saw five maximums executed, two by Antony Hayman, who was well supported by Paul Gavican (100x15).

Porters A returned from Prince Maurice B with an 8-3 victory, but Prince Maurice A were one of only three sides to win in double figures when they restricted Steam Packet A to a single point.

Danny Bull caught the eye in Indian A’s 11-0 victory over Ford Hotel when top scoring with 13 throws of a ton or more, nine of them coming in a 3-0 singles victory.

Porters won by the narrowest of margins when edging out City Social 6-5 and had Paul Freeman emerging a 3-1 winner, aided by a leg in 18 which he finished with the week’s top checkout of 160.
