Danny inspires as Governors boss Tap into submission

MARITIME Governors produced one of their best performances of the season when defeating Brewery Tap 8-3 in the Porters Function Room 501 Top 20 League, a fixture that saw six maximums recorded, two by Lewis Dare.

And as early as the second treble, Dare partnered Danny Allen (pictured) and Lee Hellings in an 801 trebles success which they won in 23 darts, boasting an average of 34.82.

Hellings and Dare then won their doubles 2-0, taking one of the 601 legs in 18 before Allen won his singles 3-0 in 19, 17 and 16 (28.90).

Dan Johnson also caught the eye in the individual phases and in winning 3-0, clinched his best leg in 15.

Kieran Burns (100x12) and Jordan Grimshaw (100x11) were both individual winners for Brewery Tap.

Porters Patriots made it 16 victories on the bounce when winning 9-2 away at Maritime Misfits and in doing so, put 70 scores of a ton on more on the board, led by John Mann (100x18) and Andy Bates (100x14).

Dave Matthews (100x11) was a lone winner for the hosts and in beating Antony Hayman 3-1, achieved a leg in 13 darts, sending Hayman down to joint 5th spot in the individual table.

Victory Inn A consolidated second place when they secured all but one of the 11 points that were on offer when hosting Indian Inn.

Scott Lawrey hit three maximums in a 3-1 win, which included back to back 180s at the start of leg two before going on to win in 18, 11 and 16.

Neil White (25.91) was also prominent and won 3-0 in 17, 20 and 21.

Porters Pretenders defeated The Clifton 8-3 while in a much closer encounter Maritime Musketeers edged out Kings Arms 6-5.

Musketeers had Lee Agar emerging a 3-1 winner in 21, 21 and 15 and their top scorer, Kenny McCollum (100x13), was edged out 3-2 by Reg Matthews despite a leg in 15 darts.

Chrissie Kinnaird was a 3-1 winner for the Oreston side, aided by a leg in 17, while Warren Gordon (100x12) top scored.

Fawn B won 7-4 away at Octagon but it was missed doubles that cost the hosts victory. The fixture produced 110 throws of a ton or more which included four maximums and 24 140s.

Alfie Ford (100x19) and Tony Perkin (100x13) were on target for Octagon with Fred Goldsmith (100x12) replying for the winners.

Graham Jones (100x12) top scored and Simon Washington (24.24) emerged a 3-0 singles winner in 20, 21 and 21 only to be denied at the death when King Billy were edged out 6-5 by Falstaff.

Dave Clemson notched a brace of 180s in a 3-0 singles victory but finished up on the wrong end of a 6-5 scoreline when Fawn A went down by the narrowest of margins when hosting Torpoint Cons.

Cherry Tree overcame Maritime Nutters 7-4 but not before the visitors had Mike Tate and Sue Pullen winning their doubles in two straight legs, aided by checkouts of 160 and 105 from Tate.
