Andrew Cook was the winner of the coveted Steve Chapman 501 League end of season singles competition, which was sponsored by Pearce Brothers Ltd, after dropping just one leg all night.

Scott Lawrey opened the evening with a 3-0 win over Mark Hatherley in the preliminary stage that contained a leg in 17 darts.


In a heavyweight clash, Mike Pearce (30.21) started a tilt at the title by ending the hopes of Lee Hellings in a 3-1 win that saw no leg going beyond 19 darts.

Pearce netted legs in 17 and 15 darts and two 180s in that clash, whilst his opponent contributed with a leg won in 17 and a third maximum of the contest.


A 180 in an opening 16 dart leg helped Alfie Ford secure a 3-1 win against Mark Sargeant, which booked his place amongst the elite last eight before Cook returned to the board.

A 3-0 win over Dan Brazier saw him through another round, and right after came a 3-0 win for Jack McMinn that contained an 18 darter finished off with a 158 combination out.


Lawrey (26.37) won his second outing of the night 3-0 to end Nick Bromley's participation with a 13 darter in the final leg, proving his dominance.

Despite an 18 dart leg and a 180, Cameron O'Brien took an early leave from the oche as Mark Shears booked his place in the next round with a 3-1 triumph.


Rhys Castle was also a 3-1 winner before the first game to reach all five legs was won by Paul Tackle despite Paul Palmer building a 2-0 lead and nailing the only maxi of the contest.

In the first quarter final, an 18 darter opened up a 3-0 win for Cook over McMinn before Tackle filled the second semi-final slot with a 3-1 win against Castle.


Every leg of Lawrey's 3-2 win over Shears went with the throw as both players added 15 darters, whilst Shears also added a 14 dart leg in the narrowest of losses.

In the final last eight tie, Pearce fired a leg in 16 to make it 1-1 before Ford went within one of victory after his 18 darter took him to 2-1 up.


A 116 checkout from Pearce levelled the tie in 18 darts before a 180 that came during a leg in 14 darts sealed a semi-final berth.

Pearce (27.83) put an end to Lawrey's run in emphatic fashion with two legs in 17, contributing to a 3-0 win as Pearce was the first man to book a spot in the grand final.


Cook came through untested against in a 3-0 win over Tackle before sealing the title with a 3-1 victory over Pearce, thanks in part to legs 18 and 12 darts, with the latter finished at the first time of asking from 121.
