Harry Bulls Out All Of The Stops

Harry Bull put up no fewer than fifteen ton plusses in his Indian A team's 7-4 victory over Union Inn in the Monday Premier League.

One of the tons hit by the Devon man was Indian's only maximum of game and Bull was joined by father Danny in reaching double figures with Bull Snr scoring eleven tons, also helped himself to an 80 finish.

Their teammate Mike Whatley also reached thirteen three figure scores for the evening in a fine display of his own.

As the score suggests, the Stoke village side didn't have it all their own way with Nick Furneaux top scoring for the Plympton team with ten tons and Dan Giles racking up a maximum of his own.

League leaders, Victory B, lost for only the second time this season in a 6-5 turnaround against the King Billy on a night in which both individual leaders, Scott Cook and Paul Gavican, suffered 3-2 defeats for the Honicknowle side.

Cook and Antony Hayman played out an epic encounter in which Cook's three maximums, and 14 and 18 darters were not enough to topple the imperious Hayman who won the game with a 14 darter of his own.

Hayman also put up the highest finish of the week; a fine 142 kill with all other ton plus finishes in the league also coming in this matchup.

Hayman's teammates Kev Lofthouse and Scott Wapshott produced maximums and finishes of 116 and 100 respectively, with the latter going on to rack up fourteen ton plusses on the night.

Victory's Danny Allen was the other master finisher with a 118 checkout and also helped himself to twelve ton plusses and a fifth maximum of the contest overall.

Some of the above helped Allen to a 13 dart leg, which was the lowest of the contest on a successful night for the former Devon marksman.

Paul Gavican was the third Victory man to reach double figures with a twelve ton haul but this was all in vain as he was powerless to stop Matt Abbott from giving the Billy Boyz the win in a last leg decider.

This defeat allowed Tradesmans to gain ground in the title race after they blitzed through Bluebird B by a scoreline of 10-1.

John Mann (26.84) was at his brilliant best with eleven tons and a leg of 11 darts in which he scored 420 in his first three visits before a fine 81 kill in two.

Bluebird's two stablemates, the A and C teams, played out a tight derby affair with the C team eventually winning by a score of 6-5.

There were five 180s in this contest as Jack McMinn chalked up one for the designated home side with Lee Roberts, Glen Austin bagging one each and Glenn Halford a brace.

Halford also added ten more ton plusses to take his evening's tally to twelve and he shared a 17 dart 601 leg with teammate Roberts.

Individually, Keith Lemon produced the lowest number of darts for the A team with a 17 darter that was usurped by the C team's Austin who went one lower with a fine 16 dart leg.

After the league's basement clash, Firkin Scholar remain bottom as the Indian B extended their lead over the Stoke side with a 7-4 win over their rivals for the wooden spoon.
