Quinton Crisp Scoring Dominates Victory Win

Quinton Taylor's fourteen ton haul proved valuable in helping Victory A to a 6-5 win over Bluebird B in the Monday Premier League.

Taylor was also one of three men to claim 18 dart legs in their singles with one other coming against him in a 3-1 success.

Dan Hurley checked the other in the final rubber of the night that went down to a last leg shootout as Ryan Harris' 15 darter proved decisive in deciding the outcome of the match.

Two more men made it to double figures in tons with Scott Lawrey and Dale Halford hitting ten a piece whilst Taylor joined teammate Tony Conn in providing the game's two maximums.

Jack McMinn top scored with fourteen ton plusses but still found his Bluebird A team on the wrong side of an 8-3 defeat to King Billy.

Scott Wapshott led the charge for the victors with twelve three figure scores; a total that contained two maximums.

Andrew Cook smashed in the match's other 180, which was joined by one of Wapshott's efforts in a 22 dart 801 trebles leg for Cook, Wapshott and teammate Kev Lofthouse.

Lofthouse helped himself to a 100 checkout that was beaten three times with a 109 from McMinn and a 133 from Alan Masters usurping Lofthouse's more than admirable visit.

The sharp finishing didn't end there with McMinn checking a leg in 16 during his 3-2 defeat to Wapshott and Masters winning a leg in 18 in a 3-0 win.

Antony Hayman (30.06) blew all of that out of the water with a fine 3-0 win in which two of the three legs were put away in 14 and 16 darts.

Glenn Austin was the main protagonist with thirteen tons for Bluebird C who recovered from 4-2 down to win 6-5 on the last tie of the match.

Tony Teal bested Dave Hollow 3-2 with a 14 darter with his opponent finishing on eleven tons; one less than teammate Nathan Langdon.

Teal also put his team's only maximum onto the scoreboard after Steve Towl had threw one for the visitors from Plympton.

The drama in the first ten ties of the contest all developed into a crescendo for Nick Perring to hold his nerve in the final game to win out 3-0 for the Compton team.

Paul Palmer led the way for Octagon A with eleven tons in a 10-1 success for his team over Victory C, in a match that saw four maximums throughout.

Paul Hendy added a brace of 180s to his 130 checkout with Dave Pethick joining him in the 180 column, as well as Chris Beale bagging one for the defeated Honicknowle side.

Palmer's 3-1 win saw one of two 18 darters in the match with Lee Hellings hitting the other in one of four ties that were won by a score line of 3-0 for the Stonehouse side.

George Beckett heard a ton or more called no fewer than eleven times during a 7-4 success for Cherry Tree B at Octagon B.

Beckett added one of four maximums in the match to that total with teammate Dave Lee's brace and Chris Edgcumbe's sole effort rounding the quartet.

Beckett (26.84) was clinical at the business end of legs with a brace of 18 darters his best in a 3-0 win while Phil Taylor's 84 kill gave him the highest finish.

Ten tons from Paul Gavican made a massive contribution to an 8-3 win for Victory B in their visit to Indian Inn that also saw three maximums.

Danny Bull provided his team's only effort whilst Gavican's teammates Scott Cook and Ant Pearn notched one each.

Cook and Gavican (27.32) paired for a 601 leg that was put away in just 22 darts before Cook (27.33) returned in the individual phase to put away a 3-0 win with the help of a leg in 16.

Teammate Paul Goundry put up a 16 darter in another 3-0 win whilst Gavican got over the line 3-2 with a leg in 17 proving crucial.

Pearn's contribution also didn't stop with a maximum as he checked 122 and legs in 14 and 15 for a 3-0 triumph in the final singles rubber.

Leaders Tradesmans won 9-2 with John Mann's (26.37) singles the main highlight of the match as he checked a leg in 18 during a 3-0 win.

Lee Agar achieved the same feat in another 3-0 triumph whilst Fred Goldsmith and Andy Nation (35.35) ploughed home a 601 leg in just 17 darts.

Whilst the event was mainly one way traffic, Paul Freeman did manage to arrest the punishment for his team with a 3-0 win that contained a maximum.
