Saved By The Well

Glyn Wells ten tons in the Louis Yates Plymouth & District Friday Darts League provided the ammunition to take Victory to a 10-3 win over Falstaff.

Wells and teammate Lee Hardy (26.34) shared a 1001 doubles leg in 38 darts before that was beaten by the least number of darts for the week from teammate Jordan Grimshaw.

Grimshaw's (29.44) individual game was put away in just 34 darts; this feat coming after Grimshaw also made it a game double with the highest finish of 75.

A 36 dart 1001 leg from Kieran Burns (27.81) provided one of a smattering of magic moments in King Billy's 8-5 success over Tradesmans B.

Burns was one of two maximum hitters as Nick Bromley netted the defeated side's only 180 whilst Burns' teammate Dylan Webb checked 113 at the first time of asking for the highest finish of the game.

Last season's league runners-up, Kings Tamerton, continued their positive start to the season with a 10-3 win over Octagon that contained a 40 dart doubles from John Brownlow and Keith Blight (25.03).

Despite ending on the wrong side of the heavy defeat, Steve Daley still had time to post a modest biggest finish of 60 to claim one of the trio of successes for the Stonehouse team.

Four maximums were shared equally between Mainstone and Tradesmans A in a result that was much more one sided than the 180 count as the latter defeated the former 10-3.

Cameron O'Brien and Dave Jones added to efforts from Nik Dodd and Andy Waters whilst Waters 124 checkout in the team game was biggest finish of the season so far.

A 180 from James Grand and a Lee Pare 86 checkout were the best moments of a 12-1 win for Pennycross at home against Ker St.

Lewis Bryne fired the game's only maximum but still found himself on the wrong end of an 8-5 defeat as Windmill were downed by Grenville whilst Legends Lounge were 9-4 winners over Cherry Tree.
