Shaun Shows Will To Win

Shaun Williams top scored with eleven tons for Victory in the Plymouth and District Friday Darts League as the Honicknowle side won 9-4 at Grenville.

Glyn Wells showed his undoubted class with ten tons, a 99 checkout, and one of two maximums for his team; Kevin Evans firing the other.

All three of Wells, Williams and teammate Jordan Grimshaw also remarkably matched each other in winning their singles in just 39 darts for an individual dart average of 25.67 per player.

David Young (23.83) produced a 42 dart 1001 leg in Queen and Constitution's 11-2 home success against Devonport rivals Lugger.

Matt Abbott and Ant Pearn both reached the magical ten ton mark in King Billy's 12-1 mauling of Tradesmans B.

Pearn (25.03) put away his 1001 singles in just 40 darts whilst Andrew Nation's modest 74 checkout claimed the high checkout prize in the contest.

Mike O'Brien helped leaders Tradesmans A gain another point over their title rivals as they won 10-3 against neighbours Octagon; the gap between the top two now seventeen with a handful of weeks left.

O'Brien's (27.05) eleven tons was unbeaten on the night; part of which was a decent foundation for a 37 dart 1001 singles leg.

O'Brien's excellent leg was bettered in the same match by Simon Washington (27.81) who fired a 36 darter in the final leg of the match for the defeated team to take the league's least number of darts prize for the week.

Washington's teammate Chris Edgcumbe also showed a glimpse of brilliance as he ploughed in the game's only maximum in the previous leg.

Ten three figure scores from Mark Hatherley lit up Indian Inn's 8-5 win at home to Mainstone; a total that was accented by a maximum from the man they call 'Flash'.

Hatherley (24.41) also produced a very tidy 1001 leg in just 41 darts to take one of three singles games the Stoke Village side won on the night.

Brewery Tap fell at home to Queens Arms by a 9-4 score line whilst Pennycross bested Kings Tamerton in a 7-6 final leg decider won by Dave Hanna and the battle of the Ker St A and B ended in the latter winning 9-4.
