Tight At The Top In Three Open League Divisions

King Billy A find themselves a point from the top of Plymouth Open League's Division A after they could only overcome Ker St C 6-5 with a James Ewing moment of magic coming in the form of a maximum.



With the scores locked at 5-5, Lee Doncaster - who had earlier checked out 82 in a single visit - won the game for his team with a 2-0 final tie success.


The 6-5 win for Mainstone during their visit to Falstaff A saw Colin Elliott finish from 97 before Mike Tregenza won the game with a 126 checkout contributing to his 2-1 singles win with match tied at 5-5.


Stan Preen's 112 checkout was one of fifty-six tons between Cherry Tree B and St Levans; the match eventually finishing 8-3 to Preen's visitors from Keyham.


Replacing their Devonport rivals at the top are The Lugger who won 9-2 against Legends Lounge thanks in part to a Marc Mills maximum.



In Division B, Checkouts of 97 from Clive Bailey and a 98 by Lee Medway helped Fortescue to an 8-3 success in their visit to Duchy.


Nick Bromley finished at the first time of asking from 104 in Ker St A's 9-2 win over Cherry Tree A whilst King Billy B fell to Devonport rivals Railway by an 8-3 score line


Prince Maurice bettered leaders St Johnston C 6-5 to leave just a point separating the top two as second placed Victory had the evening off with a bye.


St Johnston A hold a slim three point lead in Division C after overcoming Jolly Miller 7-4, but catching them are stablemates St Johnston B who had Craig Gibbons finishing from 88 in their 11-0 success over Half Moon.


Falstaff B got their long awaited second win of the campaign beating Stoke Inn 7-4 in the matchup between the league's bottom two teams.
